How to Reach Manali

The nearest airport for Manali is Bhuntar airpot, which is located 50 Km away from Manali and 10 Km away from Kullu.

There are several direct buses leave from Delhi.
There is a toy train leaves from Kalka train station to Shimla. From Shimla, you have to go to Manali by bus.

Mall road is the main focusing area of Manali. Go there and visit during leisure time in Manali.

Day-1:

Rohtang Pass

High Altitude Road

Rohtang Pass is place where you can enjoy snow-clad hill.
Visiting Time: April to October road is open for tourist. Every Tuesday remains closed.
How to go: Rohtang Pass is about 50 km away from Manali town.  You can go there by your own vehicle (Car/Bike), Taxi or by bus.
If you take your own vehicle, then you must need permission for your vehicle from Manali SDM office. Office remains open 7 days in a week. There are two types of permission – Tourist Permit and Travel Permit. If you go only Rohtang Pass and come back then you have to take tourist permit. There is a limitation of tourist permit and that is 800 Petrol vehicle and 400 Diesel vehicle per day. So during tourist season you have to take this permission few days before. On the other hand Travel Permit, if you are traveling keylong / Kaza via Rohtang Pass, then you have to take Travel Permit. There is no vehicle limitation.
Permission fee is 550 Rs. There is a check post at Gulaba near Rohtang Pass. You have to pay there too.
By Taxi to Rohtang Pass, fare is high. About 1500 Rs or more during tourist season.
There are two types of bus. One is HPTDC tourist bus for Rohtang Pass. Which leaves from Manali at 8 AM. Book your ticket minimum one day before of journey from Himachal Tourism Office at Mall Road. Fare is about 300-350 Rs. Another bus is HRTC. HRTC buses travel from Manali to Keylong via Rohtang Pass. Fare 60-70 Rs. This is uncomfortable local bus. Bus helper may not take you to Rohtang Pass. If you can convince them you can go without seat. There are 3 HRTC buses daily run from Manali to Keylong at 4 AM. 5 AM and 6 AM. If you are solo traveler then only HTRC is the best option.
This is to inform you that Own car, Taxi, and HPTDC buses will take you to the base of the hill. Then you have go to the top of the hill by your own. Either by foot or by pony ride. Pony ride is little costly. So only by HRTC bus you can get off at the top of the hill. Cause they are going to Keylong or Kaza.
There is another option to visit Rohtang pass which is Electric buses. Electric buses will take you to the top of the Pass. Starts from 5.30 AM till 9 AM. Fare is 600 per person with return journey.

Rahala Falls

How to go: located on the way to Rohtang Pass near Marhi. Those who have car or taxi, they can easily stop at this place and visit the waterfall. But those who are traveling by bus they have to get off from bus here to visit. Then board on another next bus coming from Manali to Rohtang Pass.

Solang Valley

Visiting Time: Anytime in the year. If you like snow then visit from November to February. On the other hand you can go on summer.
Accommodation: There are plenty of hotels in Solang Valley such as Solang Valley Resort, Solang Ski Resort, Solang Holiday Inn etc.
Activities: You can do there Paragliding, Zorbing, Quad Biking and Camping.
In the winter you can do there Skiing, Snowmobiling, Cable Car.
How to go: There are 5 buses run daily from Manali to Solang Valley. First bus starts at 8 AM. On the other hand you can come from Rohtang Pass to Manali on the way get off at Solang Nalla Bus Stop. From here you have to walk about 2.3 Km or you can wait for any bus coming.


Day-2:
Come back from Solang Valley early in the morning by bus and get off at Bashisht bus stand.

Jogini Falls

How to go: Jogini Falls is situated at 5.5 km away from Mall road. You can reach Bashisht temple 2.5 Km away from Mall road by car. Then 3 Km trek from Bashisht temple.

Zipline

There is a 200 meters ropeway.
How to go: Situated in the middle place of Vashisht Temple and Jogini Waterfall.

Him Valley Amusement and Cultural Park

Entry Fee: Amusement Park: 200 Rs per person, Cultural Park + Food: 350 Rs per person, Cultural Park + All Rides: 450 Rs per person, Cultural Park + Amusement Park + Food: 550 Rs per person.
Visiting Time: 10 AM to 7 PM.
How to go: 1.35 km walking distance from Nehru Kund near at Bahang bus stop.


Day-3:

Van Vihar Manali

Nice view at the bank of Beas River.
Entry Fee: 10 Rs.
Visiting Time: Summer - 8 AM to 7 PM, Winter – 8 AM to 5 PM.
Paddle Boat Fee: 2 Seats 50 Rs and 4 Seats 100 Rs for 15 minutes.
How to go: Near Mall Road.

Manali Sanctuary


Manali wildlife sanctuary on about 3,180 hectares of land. Birder will love this place. But normal tourist can omit this place.
How to go: 2 Km away from Manali town.

How to go: 2.5 Km away from mall road. There is a 1.5 Km short cut route. Ask local people if you want to walk.

How to go: It is situated at old Manali. 3 Km from old Manali main market.

How to go: 5.5 Km away from Manali towards Kullu.


Note that, on the next day you can way back home from Manali.
If your next destination is Kullu there are available bus goes to Kullu.
If your next destination is Kaza in Lahaul-Spiti then you will get direct bus from Manali.
