Lebanon is a country in Western Asia. One of the smallest countries in the world.
Lebanon is bordered by Syria to the north and east, and Israel to the south, Cyprus lies to its west across the Mediterranean Sea.
Lebanon is divided into 9 Governorates (Beirut, Akkar, Baalbek-Hermel, Beqaa, Keserwan-Jbeil, Mount Lebanon, Nabatieh, North Governorate, South Governorate). Governorates are subdivided into 25 districts. Beirut is the capital and the largest city in Lebanon.
