Toronto Christmas Market is held at this place and the it looks like magical area for lighting and decorations.
How to go: The location start from the east side of Parliament Square Park, about 600 meters from Museum of Illusions towards east.

Mackenzie House

Building

William Lyon Mackenzie, the city's first mayor, After leading the Rebellion in 1837, Mackenzie was forced to move in the United States. He returned to Canada in 1950 in poor financial condition. This house at 82 Bond Street was bought for Mackenzie by his friends and supporters in 1858. He died in this house in 1861. His wife and 3 daughters stayed in the house for another 10 years. The neighboring houses were demolished in 1936, while Mackenzie's grandson, William Lyon Mackenzie was Prime Minister. Only this house was saved.
Now it is using as a museum.

Todmorden Mills

Heritage Site

Todmorden Mills was started as a lumber mill in 1795 named as "Don Mills". A brewery was built next to the mill in 1820. The property was sold to Taylor family in 1855. The Taylors owned a number of industrial mills including the Don Valley Brick Works. The mill was converted to produce felt paper and continued till 1920s. The site became a small German prisoner of war camp in 1940s.  The camp was shut down in 1945 and the buildings were destroyed by fire. The Whitewood Riding School was housed at the stables from 1950 to 1963. It was opened as the Todmorden Mills Historic Site on May 22, 1967 as a museum.

Harbour Square Park

Jack Layton Ferry Terminal are located at the southeast of the park on the bank of Lake Ontario. From there, ferry leaves for Toronto Island.
How to go: It is about 500 meters from Union Station Rail towards south end. South side of Waterfront Toronto (Government Offices).


Toronto Islands

It consists of 15 small islands in Lake Ontario.
How to go: It is access by ferry or water taxi from Jack Layton Ferry Terminal. Ferries go to three different routes of the islands are Center, Hanlan's (west island) and Ward's Island (east island). Islands are all connected, so you can walk from one to another. Ferry Ticket fare includes return ticket so you don't need to show tickets on the way back.
Center Island Ferry Timing: 10 AM, 11 AM, 12.30 PM, 2 PM, 3 PM, 4.45 PM 6.15 PM, 7. 45 PM, 9.15 PM.

There are six elevators are located in the three inverted angles. There are three visitor areas. Two located at an elevation of 342 meters. One is indoor and another is outdoor. The 3rd visitor point is called SkyPod at at an elevation of 446.5 meters just below the antenna.
Eaglewalk: Thrill-seekers can walk on and around the roof above the 360 Restaurant at 356 meter. It is the world's highest full-circle, hands-free walk.
CN Tower has the World's highest glass floor paneled elevator (346 meters), Horizons Restaurant, World's highest bar (at 346 meters), 360 Restaurant, World's highest wine cellar at 351 meters.

Fort York

National Historic Site

41-acre historical area features stone-lined earthwork walls and eight historical buildings within them, including two blockhouses.
It was British military site during the 1780s. First British garrison was established on 20 July 1793. By November 1793, Fort York consisted of two log barracks, a stockade, and a sawmill to provide lumber. A guard house, and two blockhouses was built in 1794. 2 other blockhouses were built in 1796.
York town was attacked by American forces in April 1813. The fort was captured by the American forces after the town's surrender. Before leaving York, American forces destroyed several other buildings, including most of the structure, except this barracks. The Royal Navy re-structured the Government House Battery and the Circular Battery with another two blockhouses in November 1813. On August 6, 1814, an American navy arrived near the port of York, resulting in an exchange of fire between the two sides. The American squadron was out of port in York for three days before the voyage began. 18 buildings were built in 1816. New Fort York was built in 1841. It is located about 847 meters west of Fort York. The British began withdrawing troops from all of its North American garrisons, including Fort York, to reduce tensions with the Americans before signing the Washington Treaty. Fort York was officially handed over to the Federal Government of Canada on July 25, 1870.
Department of Militia and Defense handed over the property to the municipal government in 1909. After repairing, converted the fort into a historic site and museum in 1932.

How to go: It is about 2.5 km from the north end of Trinity Bellwoods Park towards northwest at 158 Sterling Road. 10-minutes walk way from 'UP Express Bloor Station'. By subway, 10-minutes walk way from 'Lansdowne station' or 'Dundas West Station'.


High Park

400 acres north-south park is the second largest park in Toronto.
Zoo Visiting Time: 11 AM to 5.30 PM every day.
Entry Fee: Free.
How to go: North gate of hight park is about 1.6 km from Museum of Contemporary Art towards northwest.
Inside the Premises: Picnic Spot 3, High Park Nature Center, High Park Tennis Courts, High Park Rink, Lesya Ukrainka Monument, Shakespeare in High Park, Grenadier Cafe, Hillside Gardensm, High Park Zoo, Jamie Bell Adventure Playground, Monument to John G. and Jemina Howard, Colborne Lodge.
