Sweden country in Northern Europe and also a Nordic country (The Nordic countries are most commonly known as Norden. The region includes the sovereign states of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, as well as the autonomous countries of the Faroe Islands and Greenland, which are both part of the Kingdom of Denmark). Sweden is the largest country in Northern Europe, the third-largest country in the European Union, and the fifth largest country in Europe.
It borders Norway to the west and north, Finland to the east, and is connected to Denmark in the southwest by a bridge-tunnel.
Sweden divided into 21 county councils (landsting) and 290 municipalities (kommuner). Every county council corresponds to a county (län) with a number of municipalities per county. Municipalities are also divided into a total of 2,512 parishes (församlingar). Stockholm is the Capital of Sweden.
