How to Reach Langkawi

From Thailand by road: There are many borders between Thailand and Malaysia. You can easily reach Langkawi from Thailand.
Satun Tammalang (Thailand) to Langkawi / Kuala Perlis (Malaysia): Tammalang Pier is 8 km away from Satun town. Boat departs from Kuah jetty at 11 AM and 4 PM (Thai Time) daily. It takes 1.15 hour and fare about 350 Baht.
Wang Prachan (Thailand) to Wang Kelian (Malaysia): Come to Chalung in Satun district. From Satun or Khuan Don district, come to Wang Prachan in Khuan Don by Songthaew. Then cross the border and come to Wang Kelian, Malaysia. Then come to Kaki Bukit by songthaew. Then come Kuala Perlis ferry terminal.
From Johor Behru: Bus departs at 12 PM and takes almost 17 hours and reach Kuala Perlis early in the morning. Fare about 85 Ringgit.
From Kuala Lumpur: Bus fare about 55 Ringgit to Kuala Perlis.
From Kuala Perlis: Fare about 18 Ringgit.

If you reach via ferry, nearest budget hotels are Hotel Havana 2 km from sea port. Room Rent - $10/night. Lena Dormitory - $5/night.If you reach by air, nearest budget hostel are - RL Budget - 8$, Two Peace House - 6$, Sweet Monkey backpacker - 7$.

If you travel in a group or you want a car standby for you all day wherever you go then renting a car is the best way. So book online so that you get a ready car for you. I prefer Economy Car Rentals to book online. Which provides car in affordable price.Bus service that departs from the stand opposite the hospital runs only three routes out of Kuah - to Pantai Cenang, Padang Lalang and Pantai Kok. But it's not regularly and on time.

If you have International driving license then you can rent car (about 60 Ringgit/day) or scooter (10-30 Ringgit/day). 1 liter of gasoline in Langkawi is 2.1 Ringgit.

Day-1:
Seven Wells Waterfalls
WaterfallLocally known as TelagaTuJuh Waterfalls.
How to reach: Seven Wells Waterfall is about 12 km from Langkawi airport towards north.
Oriental Village Tour
Recreation AreaOriental Village is best known as the place of the Langkawi Cable Car and Sky Bridge. It is basically an open-air mall with many souvenir stores.
Visiting Time: Monday to Thursday 10 AM to 7 PM (closes by 8 PM). Friday to Sunday and Public Holidays - 9:30 AM to 7 PM (closes by 8 PM). Wednesday - 12 PM to 7 PM (closes by 8 PM).
Attractions:
Langkawi Sky Cab: It takes passengers up Mount Mat Chinchang, which is at heght of 709 meters above sea level.
Langkawi Sky Bridge: At the final station of the Cable Car journey, is the Sky Bridge. It is 410 feet-long curved pedestrian bridge.
Sky Rex: 3D Motion Ride. The performance takes 5 minutes. It is a tram styled simulator 3D film projected to the front and both sides of the tram.
6D Cinemotion: Outdoor entertainment 6D Cine motion. Various combinations of special effects similar to what the onscreen characters are experiencing while watching a 3D stereoscopic movie and seated on a 5D special effect seats. Shows running once every 15 minutes.
Duck Tours: The 'Duck' is a vehicle of duck shaped. The trip starts at the Oriental Village where the cable car departs from and trundles down to a ramp at Telaga harbor 2 km from the cable car. It then plunges into the water, takes a 15 minute tour of the marina and the boats at anchor outside and then trundles back up to the cable car. It gives the passengers the exhilaration of both land and sea. The total tour duration is 45 minutes.
3D Art Museum: Langkawi Art in Paradise 3D Museum, is the second largest 3D art museum in the world, features more than 200 artworks.
Ticket cost: Sky Cab + Sky Dome + Sky Rex = 45 Ringgit for adult, 32 Ringgit for child
With these three you can add ohers. such as 6D Cine motion = 63 Ringgit, 3D Art Museum = 75 Ringgit, Duck Tours = 78 Ringgit, Total 6 attractions = 126 Ringgit.
Accommodation: There is a Geopark Hotel inside the premises. You stay there at night. Room Rent about 90 Ringgit per night.

How to go: South end of Pantai Cenang beach.

Tengah Beach
BeachHow to go: Beside Cenang beach after underwater world towards south.
Upsidow
Up Side DownVisiting Time: 9 AM to 9 PM.
Entry Fee: 25 Ringgit for adults and 20 Ringgit for children. For meal package add 5 Ringgit with entrance fee.
How to go: It is situated at Kampung Bayas, Jalan Padang Matsirat. It is about 16 km from Pantai Cenang beach and about 12 km from Kuah Jetty.
Day-3:
Black Sand Beach
BeachThe beach is mix of black and white sand. Some locals believe to be the result of a centuries-old curse laid by a mermaid because a fisherman had stolen her ring.
How to reach: It is about 20 km from Kuah jetty towards north through Jalan Ayer Hangat road. Finally from the circle, straight to Jalan Teluk Yu Road.
Tanjung Rhu Beach
BeachHow to go: about 4 km towards east from Black Sand beach.
Kilim Geoforest Park
Mangrove swampsThe best way to explore this protected landscape is via riverboat cruise along Kilim River.

ParkOne of Langkawi’s best known man made attractions.
How to go: Besides Kuah jetty.
