Ipoh is the city in Kinta district of Malaysian state of Perak. It is 180 km north of Kuala Lumpur and 123 km southeast of George Town in neighboring Penang.


How to reach Ipoh

Lata Ulu Chepor

2 waterfalls there.
How to go: About 7.5 km from Seen Hock Yeen Confucius Temple towards south west. Go to Chemor which is 1.7 km away or you can come to chemor from Ipoh. From temple to chemor, turn right and from Ipoh to Chemor turn left towards west. Then go about 4.5 km and you will reach Lata Ulu Chepor.


Kledang Saiong Forest Eco Park

Visiting Time: 8 AM to 6 PM every day.
Entry Fee: 5 Ringgit for adult and 2 Ringgit for child.
How to go: It is about 4 km from Lata Ulu Chepor. Stop at Ipoh Amanjaya Bus Terminal.

Perak Cave Temple

Visiting Time: 9 AM to 6 PM.
How to go: It is about 4 km away from MAPS. The temple is located north of Ipoh, on Jalan Kuala Kangsar. Go to the Railway Station and turn right as you come out and 5 minutes on the right and you will find the city bus station. Number 35 will take you North to the more impressive Perak Cave Temple.


Gunung Lang Recreational Park

It was opened in October 2000. It Covers an area of 30.35 hectares.
Visiting Time: Monday to Thursday - 8 AM to 7 PM, Friday - 8 AM to 4 PM, Saturday, Sunday, Public holiday - 8 AM to 6.30 PM.
Boat Ride Fee: 3 Ringgit for adult, 1.50 Ringgit for Child, 1.5 Ringgit for Senior citizens.
How to go: About 2 km from Perak Cave Temple towards south.


Kallumalai Murugan Temple

Hindu Temple

Also known as Kallumalai Arulmigu Subramaniyar Temple.
How to go: It is about 2.2 km from Gunung Lang Park towards south.


D.R Seenivasagam Recreational Park

How to go: It is very near to Murugan Temple about 100 meters distance towards southeast after crossing the bridge.

Darul Ridzuan Museum

Visiting Time: Monday to Thursday - 9.30 AM to 5 PM, Friday - 9.30 AM - 12.15 PM and 2.45 PM - 5 PM.

How to go: It is situated at Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab, Perak.


Lembaga Muzium Negeri Perak

Visiting Time: 8 AM to 5 PM. Saturday and Sunday remains close.
How to go: It is near Darul Ridzuan Museum.

Cenotaph War Memorial

Monument

This is a war memorial to commemorate those who died or were injured in war. It was unveiled in 1927 on Armistice Day.
How to go: It is in front of Ipoh train staton.


Ipoh Town Hall

Beautiful Landmark

How to go: It is near Ipoh train station.

Birch Memorial Clock Tower

Historical Landmark

The clock tower was constructed to commemorate James W. W. Birch, the first British Resident of Perak. It was unveiled in 1909.
How to go: It is situated besides Town Hall.


Sultan Idris Shah II Mosque

Mosque

The construction of the mosque began in May 1966 and was completed in August 1968.
How to go: Just opposite of Birch Memorial Clock Tower.


Chung Thye Phin Building

Historical Landmark

It was built in 1907.
How to go: It is located at the junction of Jalan Sultan Yusuf and Jalan Dato Maharajalela (Station Road). From Clock tower go to 110 meters east then turn left and walk only 90 meters.

How to go: From Chung Thye Phin Building walk back 90 meters to south and It is situated on the right side corner.



From Trick art, walk to the 50 meters east then turn left to Concubine Lane, one of the most popular street. Walk to north and come to Kong Heng Square. Then Turn road right towards east and walk 110 meters. You will reach Bijeh Timah road. Turn right and walk.

Visiting Time: Entry is by appointment only. There are four appointment slots daily from Tuesday to Sunday. Monday remains closed.

How to visit: From Miniature Wonders Art Gallery go 80 meters to south. Turn left and walk through Lorong Bijeh Timah road and after 120 meter walk you will see a bridge. Cross the bridge and walk more 200 meters towars east. Turn left to Mural art's Lane.

Ling Sen Tong Temple

How to go: Go to the Railway Station and turn right as you come out and 5 minutes on the right and you will find the city bus station. Number 66 will take you South West, to Sam Poh Tong Cave Temple in 20 minutes for 2 Ringgit.

Nam Thean Tong Temple

How to go: It is 120 meters walking distance from Ling Sen Tong Temple.

Sam Poh Tong

Buddhist Temple

How to go: It is 160 meters walking distance from Nam Thean Tong Temple towards south.

Guanyin Cave

Kwan Yin Tong of Goddess of Mercy Cave Temple.
How to go: About 600 meters away from Sam Poh Tong towards west.

How to go: 15 km from Ipoh City. The hot spring can be reached by using Simpang Pulai-Cameron Highland Road (Route 185) near the Simpang Pulai Toll Plaza.



Day-6:

Kellie's Castle

William Kellie Smith was born in 1870 in scotland. In 1890 at the age of 20, he arrived in Malaya as a civil engineer. Kellie-Smith bought 1,000 acres of jungle land in the district of Kinta. He went to scotland married Agnes and come back with her in 1903. In 1909 Kellie-Smith built his first mansion, "Kellas House". In 1915 he started to build this castle bu he died at the age of 56 in 1926. His wife moved back to Scotland, construction on the castle was never completed.
Visiting Time: 9 AM to 6 PM.
Entry Fee: 10 Ringgit for foreign adult and Ringgit 9 for foreign child. 5 Ringgit for Local adult and 3 Ringgit for local child.
How to go: About 40 km away from Ipoh. Exit Ipoh Railway Station and come to main road turn right. Walk straight for about 10 to 15 minutes. You will walk past a Poslaju building on your right. When you reach a roundabout, Medan Kidd Bus Station should be on your right. Take the Route 66 Perak Transit bus heading to Kampar. Get off from bus when the bus reaches Gopeng. Take the Route 67 Perak Transit bus heading to Batu Gajah. Get off from bus when the bus reaches Kellie’s Castle.

Ipoh is the gateway of Cameron Highlands. You can easily visit their by bus. Public bus takes only 20 Ringgit. It takes about 2 hours to reach.
