How to Reach Chitwan

From Kathmandu: AC bus from Kathmandu cost 500-650 Rupees. It takes about 5-7 hours to reach
From Pokhara: Tourist bus cost 400-450 Rupees. It takes 5-7 hours to reach.
From Lumbini: No direct bus from Lumbini to Chitwan. But from Bhairahawa Bus stop, local bus is available.

The most popular places to stay in Chitwan is Sauraha, which is right next to the National Park. If you are coming by bus, tell them to drop you at the Sauraha Bus Station which is only a ten minute walk from town.

Tourist Places in Chitwan


Day-1:

Tharu Village

Village

The Tharu village is about 2km from the center of Sauraha. You can visit their by taking half day package from your hotel by jeep. It takes about 400 Rupees. You can also visit there by Oxcart or Pony ride. But the cheapest way to visit Tharu village is by renting bicycle. Bicycle rent is cheap, aout 200 Rupees per day. You can freely visit anywhere you want.

You can do this at you own hand. It takes about $2 bath which lasted several minutes. But It is free to watch.

Visiting Time: 6 PM to 8 PM.

How to go: 300 meters walking distance from Sauraha towards north.



Day-2

Canoe ride

Fun riding

Canoe ride at Rapti River inside the Chitwan National Park and take a close view of crocodiles and other wild animals and birds.
Cost: Sharing boat ride cost 500 Rupees each for one hour. A private tour for 2/3 hours will cost 2500-3000 Rupees.

Chitwan National Park is the first national park in Nepal. It was established in 1973 and granted the status of a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984.
Package: May cost $13 which included 30 minutes of canoeing, 2.5 hours of jungle trekking, and a visit to the Elephant Breeding Center with two guides.
Park Entry Fee: 1695 Rupees for foreign visitors. 850 Rupees for SAARC country.
Activities Inside Park:
A half day walking safari which is 3 hours with two guides cost 2800 Rupees. It’s important to note if you’re travelling solo you’ll still have to pay for two guides and it may get expensive so find others.
A private jeep safari for two with one guide was 5000 Rupees. For sharing you would pay a lot less.
Elephant Breeding Centre: You can visit Elephant Breeding Center for free of cost.



Day-3:

20 Thousand Lake

How to go: By bicycle, you can reach the lake.


Devghat Bridge

how to go: It is situate at Devghat road. About 9 km from Bharatpr Airport towards north. The main bus stand in Narayangarh is called the Pokhara bus stand. local buses head to Devghat 20 Rupees and it takes 20 minutes.

Jalbire Waterfall

Also known as Lamo Jharana.
Entry Fee: 10 Rupees for Nepalese and 50 Rupees for foreigner.
How to reach: 1 km walking distance from the Jalbire temple. It is situated at the Narayangadh-Muglin hightway road which is 6 km from Mugling towards Narayangarh and 30 km from Narayangarh towards Mugling.
