How to Reach Amsterdam

Schiphol Airport (IATA Code: AMS),  is the main international airport of the Netherlands. It is located 9 kilometres southwest of Amsterdam at Haarlemmermeer municipality.

Hotels in Amsterdam

Where to stay in Amsterdam is the main question for the first time traveler. You can stay in Westerpark, Jordaan or Plantage. But if you like nightlife, then you can stay in De Pijp. But problem for the budget traveler. Hotels price is little bit higher in Amsterdam. You can stay Oud-Zuid area, where the vondelpark is located.

Westerkerk was built between 1620 and 1631.

Biographical museum dedicated to Anne Frank (Annelies Marie "Anne" Frank), a German-Dutch diarist of Jewish. She is famous for his book 'The Diary of a Young Girl', in which she wrote her life in hiding from 1942 to 1944, during the German occupation of the Netherlands in World War II.

The house was built in 1672. Ferdinand Bol was a Dutch painter lived in this house. The family Van Loons lived in this house from 1884 to 1945.

The Bloemenmarkt is the floating flower market founded in 1862 on the Singel River.

Munttoren

Tower

Munttoren means Mini Tower. In 1480, one of the main gate was built with two towers and a guard house as part of the medieval city wall. The gate totally destroyed by flame of fire in 1618 except guard house and tower. The tower was rebuilt in 1620. Guard house was replaced with a new building during 1885-1887. The tower consists of clock facing 4 sides that chime every 15 minutes.

Also called Tassenmuseum is one of three museums in the world in this field. It has the world's largest collection of bags and purses.

Magere Brug means skinny bridge was first built in 1691. In 1871, it was demolished and replaced by a nine-arched wooden bridge. The final replacement of the bridge happened in 1969.

How to go: West end of Albert Cuyp Market at the junction of Albert Cuypstraat road and Ferdinand Bolstraat road, walk towards north about 200 meters. You will reach at Heinekenplein square.
