Transportation in Miami

There are many public transport systems in Miami and the interesting is that few of them are totally free. Such as Metromover (overhead metro) and Trolley (one kind of bus). Budget traveler need to know the roots well. I have tried to write details at end of this post. It will help you to minimize your transport cost.

How to go: About 500 meters from the Central rail station towards southeast at 118 NE 2nd street, Miami.

Nearest Metromover Station is First Street (225 NE First Street), about 180 meters towards east.

191 meter high 47-story building. Evening lighting during different occasion looks beautiful.
How to go: It is about 400 meters from Gesu Church towards south at 100 SE 2nd street, Miami.

Nearest Metromover Station is Knight Center (100 SE Second Street).

How to go: From Miami tower, walk 500 meters towards east through SW 2nd street, you will reach the south end of the park. The park is located east side of Biscayne Boulevard. Nearest Metromover Station is Bayfront Park (150 S Biscayne Boulevard).

How to go: About 23.5 km North-south hightway road starts from southwest corner of Bayfront Park (south end of street) and headed to north and crosses Miami-Dade county and ends near Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach city in southern Broward County of Florida (north end). The road meets with S Federal Highway to the north.

How to go: It is located northwest end of the Bayfront Park. Nearest Metromover station is College Bayside at 225 NE 3 Street.


Freedom Tower at Miami Dade College

Freedom Tower was built in 1925 as newspaper headquarters. In 1960s, it used as a refugee camp. The building sold to a private company in 1974. Jorge Mas Canosa, businessman bought the house in 1997 and housed a museum. Another group bought the building in 2005 and later donated to the donated to Miami Dade College. Now it is using as the Museum of Art and Design.
Visiting Time: Wednesday, Friday to Sunday - 1 PM to 6 PM. Thursday - 1 PM to 8 PM.
Entry Fee: $12 for adult. $8 for senior. $5 for student. Free for child age below 12.
How to go: It is located about 600 meters from central train station towards east and 350 meters from Bay side Marketplace towards north at 600 Biscayne Boulevard. Nearest Metromover station is Freedom Tower.

How to go: About 800 meters from Freedom Tower towards east, crossing the bridge.

Brickell Loop: It covers Inner loop and goes south till Financial district.

Omni Loop: It covers Inner loop and goes north till School Board. Miami-Metromover


Trolley:
