Scituate Lighthouse

It was built and activated on September 19, 1811. It was then the 11th lighthouse in the United States. The first keeper, Captain Simeon Bates was lived at this house with his wife, and 9 children. The government added 15 feet to the height of the tower in 1827. The light was deactivated in 1860 due to the construction of the Minot's Ledge Light.
In 1916 the Town of Scituate purchased the lighthouse from the federal government. In 1930 the Town built a new lantern room atop the light. The lighthouse administration provided to the Scituate Historical Society in 1968.
How to go: It is located about 450 meters from Sand Hill Beach towards southeast.

Lawson Tower

153 feet high steel water tank was built in 1900.
How to go: It is located about 3 km from Museum Beach towards west at 330 First Parish Road.


Peggotty Beach

How to go: It is located about 2.2 km from Museum Beach towards south.

Maritime and Irish Mossing Museum

The museum is located in the 1739 residence of Capt. Benjamin James.
