Nilphamari is a district in Northern Bangladesh. It is a part of the Rangpur Division.

Nilphamari is bounded by Rangpur and Lalmonirhat in east, Rangpur and Dinajpur in south, Dinajpur and Panchagarh in west, Jalpaiguri of India in north.

Nilphamari district is divided into Six Upazilla or Sub-Districts (Dimla ( ডিমলা ), Domar ( ডোমার ), Jaldhaka ( জলঢাকা ), Kishoreganj ( কিশোরগঞ্জ ), Nilphamari Sadar ( নীফামারী সদর ), Saidpur ( সৈয়দপুর )).



How to Reach Nilphamari

From Dinajpur: There are Many gate lock buses run from Dinajpur to Rangpur. Some buses hanged white flag in front and top on the bus are moving faster. You can ride on that bus to Wapda Mor ( ওয়াপদা মোর ). From Wapda mor you can go by battery auto.

Chini Mosque ( চিনি মসজিদ )

The mosque is also known as Glass Mosque. The construction of the mosque started in 1863 by Haji Bakir Ali Ahmed and was completed within a year as a little prayer house. Lately Wazir Ali Ahmed who's belongs from founders family started the extension and modification work of this mosque. After that in at the middle of 20th century the sons of Late Wazir Ali Ahmed, Mofizuddin Ahmed & Shafiuddin Ahmed (well known as cloth merchants) continue the beautification work of the mosque. At the time the ceramics pieces brought form Kolkata as there was no any ceramic factory in East Pakistan/Bengal (present Bangladesh).
How to Go: It is in Syedpur Upazila. from Wapda Mor you can go by battery auto to Syedpur Chini mosque, fare 10 Taka per person

Historical Large Pond

Hinduism is reviewed and found that from eighth century BC to ninth century. Kourob and Pandoves played a game. Pandoves were defeated the game and as the conditions of the game, Pandoves was forced to go to Bonobaash (living in forest, one kind of prison at that time) for twelve years. The defeated Pandoves selected the place as prison in the cow house area (so-called today's Gorgram) of the King, Birat. Birat (Name of the king) dug this huge pond to satisfy the thirst of the Pandoves.
Later In 1979, Mr. A. Jabbar, Administrator, aimed to build Dighi as a tourist center, he reformed and it was named "Nilasagar".

How to go: It's in Joldhaka Sub-District. Go to there by bus. From Joldhaka, you will get auto.

Tista Barrage


It's in Dimla Sub district of Nilphamari. Go to Dimla by bus. From Dimla, go to Tista Barrage by auto.
