Natore is a district of Rajshahi Division in Bangladesh.

Natore is bordered by Naogaon and Bogura districts to the north, Pabna and Kushtia districts to the south, Pabna and Sirajganj districts to the east, Rajshahi district to the west.

Famous For: Natore is Famous for Kachagolla ( কাচাগোল্লা ) (One kind of Bengali sweet)

Natore Royal Palace

Natore is the place of ancient history and archaeological heritage, Among man historical places, the most important one is "Natore Rajbari" means the Royal Palace of Natore which is the memorial of famous Queen Rani Bhabani.
According to the historians, Natore dynasty flourished at the beginning of 18th century. Among the North Bengal Jamiders, Natore dynasty's Jamiders were famous for their dignity, beneficial activities to the people and for their huge property. In 1706 when Ganeshwear Roy and Bhabani Charon Roy, the famous Jamiders of Bangachi Porgona, were dethroned from Jamidary for their failure to deposit revenue, Dewan Rahgu Nandon deposited revenue on behalf of his brother, Ramjiban.
Raja Ramjiban became the first king. He reigned up to 1734 AD and died on that very year. After his death his adopted son, Raja Ramkanto became the king. In 1730 Rani Bhabani got married with Ramkanto. Raja Ramkanto died on 1748. After his death Newab Alibordi Khan handed over the responsibility of jamideri on Rani Bhabani. It is said that, this great lady was born in Chatina village of Bogra district in 1122 (Bangla Year). During the reign of Rani Bhabani, Natore Jamideri expanded a lot. It included Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogra, Kushtia, Jessore, Rangpur of Bangladesh and Murshidabad, Birbhum, Maldoho few parts of West Bengal, now in India. Rani Bhabani was called Queen of half Bengal. After her death in 1802, her adopted son Ramkrishna undertook the responsibility of Jamidari. Ramkrishna died in 1203 (Bangla Year). Then Jamidari was distributed between his two son Raja Bishwanath Kumar (Boro Torof) and Raja Shivanath Kumar (Choto Torof).
The Present Palace of Natore Rajbari is about 120 acres. It is surrounded by two steps lake for the security of the palace. Besides these lakes there are 5 big ponds. The total area of Rajbari is divided into two parts. Baro Tarof and Choto Tarof.
How to go: From Madrasa Mor ( মাদ্রাসা মোর ), hire a ricksha fare 15 taka

How to go: From Madrasa Mor ( মাদ্রাসা মোর ) you will get bus to go Bonpara Bazar ( বনপারা বাজার ). Don't conflict with Bonpara Mor ( বনপারা মোর ). To go to Bazar, you have to go via Bonpara Mor. then you have to turn right from main road then turn first left and go straight. Or you can hire van for 5 taka each to church

Uttara Gonobhabon (উত্তরা গণভবন)

Ramjibon was an ordinary employee under Puthiya king Darpanarayan Thakur, his salary was then monthly 8 Paisa. After a small study, he started to keep accounts and then his salary increased to 5 Taka per month. Later sympathy, love, and kindness of Partha king Darpararayan, Ramziban got zamindari.
According to many, Ramjibon reached the village of Kolom through the Cholon Bil. At that time, two boys appeared before the king's boat. After getting acquainted with one of the two boys, he got him into Natore. The boy is dayaram. Ramjivan believed him very much and kept enormous wealth with him. Nirvantan Ramjibon Dewan adopted Ramkranto at the suggestion of Dayaraam. The whole zamidari gave a will in the name of Ramkranto. During Ramkranto's marriage to Queen Vabani, he was the supreme master. In the time of Ramibon's death, Dayaraam Rai was appointed as the guardian of Raamkranto. After the death of King Ramkanta in 1748, Dayaraam Roy ran the zamidari besides Queen Bhabani. In 1760, Queen Bhabani was once ruled out. At that time, Dayaraam Roy was imprisoned for a few days, but he worked a lot and returned the kingdom to Rani Bhabani again. In 1760, at the age of 80, Dayaraam died but left five daughters, one son and a lot of wealth. Dewan Dayaraam Rai first constructed the Dighapatia Rajbari which is now known as Uttara Ganobhaban.


On 24 July 1967, it was designated as a gubernatorial residence by Abdul Monem Khan, the Governor of East Pakistan. The palace was used by President Ayub Khan as a retreat when Bangladesh was a part of Pakistan as its eastern wing. After the independence of Bangladesh, Prime Minister Sheikh Mujibur Rahman declared the palace as his official residence in northern Bangladesh on 9 February 1972. It has since been used by successive Bangladeshi heads of government for holding cabinet, political and diplomatic meetings outside the capital.
How to go: From Madrasa Mor ( মাদ্রাসা মোর ) you can go by Auto CNG (fare 10 taka per person) to Dighapotia ( দীঘাপতিয়া ) or you can tell driver "Uttara Gonobhabon".
Entry Fee: Bangladeshi Visitor 20 Taka, Senior Citizen & Student:10 Taka, Foreigner: 400 Taka


Halti Bil

Wetland

Halti Bil is a wetland in Bangladesh. Usually go to just before or just after Rainy Season. Local people sometimes call this place "Mini Cox'sbazar". You can reserve Engine boat or ride on Speed Boat takes 50 taka per person for 5/6 minutes.
How to go: Bil is huge in size. So you can go there from different places. But the most popular place is Patul Ghat ( পাটুল ঘাট ). From Gonobhaban, hire a CNG goes to Patul Ghat, fare 30 Taka per person. From there you can walk few distance. cross a small bridge then turn right then turn first left and go straight.


Cholon Bil ( চলনবিল )

Largest Wetland in Bangladesh

Cholon Bil is the largest wetland in Bangladesh. It is situated in the part of three district of Bangladesh - Natore, Shirajgonj and Pabna. 
How to go: If you come from Dhaka to Natore, on the way is Kachikaata Village. You can go to Kachikaata Village also from Natore Town. From Kachikaata, go to 8 Km away Chaachkoir Bazar. From Chaachkoir Bazar go to 6 Km away Khubji village. Here you will get Cholon bil Museum. Behind the Museum you will find Cholon Bil.
Or from Natore town, come to 50Km away Gurudashpur Sub-district by bus. From there go to 4 Km away Khubji village. Here you will get Cholon bil Museum. Behind the Museum you will find Cholon Bil.

Dayarampur Royal Palace


Doyaraampur Area constructed and named after Dayaraam Dewan and the house name is "Dayaraampur Jomidarbari"
How to go: Go to Dayarampur by bus from Natore. Then by auto go to this place.
