Kalimpong district is bounded by Pakyong district of Sikkim in the north, Bhutan in the east, Darjeeling district in the west, and Jalpaiguri district in the south.


How to reach Kalimpong

By Air: The nearest airport from Kalimpong is Bagdogra Airport, Siliguri.

If you want to visit these day-1 places then you have to get off from your jeep or bus at 7th Mile View point, which is about 4 km before from Kalimpong Bus Station. So inform your driver or bus supervisor to drop you at this place.

There are many hotels on the main road at 7th Mile, View Point. Such as Sherpa’s Homestay, Kadambari Homestay, Breathing Stone, Jubilee Villa, Birdview Homestay, Holumba Haven. According to your price you can stay at any one of these hotels.
If you don’t want to take hotel then you can visit the places and then go to bus stand.

Dr. Graham’s Homes

Historic Architecture

In early 1900, Dr. John Anderson Graham’s dream was to help poor European and Eurasian children live a life of dignity and to give them the opportunity to make a decent life for themselves. So he leased 100 acres of land from the Government on the slopes of the Deolo Hills.
On 24th September 1900, Graham founded St. Andrew’s Colonial Homes. A rented building, Kiernander Cottage was leased for the Homes and started with 6 childrens.
Woodburn Cottage was opened on 4th November 1901 and was designed for 26 children and three staff members. Elliot Cottage also opened on 4th November 1902. Bourdillon School was inaugurated on 18th December 1902. Calcutta Cottage was opened on 30th April 1903.
On 24th September 1925, the Katherine Graham Memorial Chapel was built.
Dr. Graham passed away on 15th May 1942.

Inside the premises you can visit many places. Such as Wiston Cottage, Willingdon Hostel, Grant Cottage, Scottish-Canadian Hostel, Laidlaw Cottage, Assam Cottage, Katherine Graham Memorial Chapel, Jarvie Hall, Dr. Grahams Homes Cemetery, Grey Dove Home Stay, Rolandshay Park.

Neora Valley National Park

It was established in 1986. Total area of the park is 159.89 Square Km. Need a permit to enter the park. The permit is available at the forest range office at Lava and also at Samsing.
Best time to visit: October to April.

Inside Neora Valley National Park. You will need to walk up a steep uphill trail for about 20 minutes to get to the waterfall near the village Kolakham.
