How to Reach Banda Aceh

By Air: The airport, Bandara Sultan Iskandar Muda, is located 18 km from the center of town. It is Internationally connected with Kuala Lumpur and any airport in Indonesia.

Air Terjun Peukan Biluy

How to go: It is about 22 Km from the city of Banda Aceh. There is no public transport. You can reach 4 biluy villages connecting road. Waterfall is about 3 km from that road.

How to go: It is situated in the middle of the Bukit Barisan mountain rangein the middle of the Bukit Barisan mountain range at Jl. Mataie - keude Bieng Km 1,8, Lambaro Kueh, Lhoknga, Aceh Besar Regency.

Rumah Cut Nyak Dhien

Museum

The house is a replica of the original which was burnt down by the Dutch. The museum of Tjut Nyak Dien, was a leader of the Acehnese guerrilla forces during the Aceh War. Following the death of her husband Teuku Umar, she led guerrilla actions against the Dutch for 25 years. She was awarded the title of National Hero of Indonesia on May 2, 1964 by the Indonesian government.
Visiting Time: 9 AM to PM.
Entry Fee: Free.
How to go: It is situated at Lampisang, Peukan Bada, Aceh Besar Regency.


Day-2:

Lhoknga Beach

Surf Beach

Famous beach for surfing. The surf season is between November and March.
How to go: About 15 km from Banda Aceh. Airport to Lhoknga taxi fare about IDR 170,000 ($12).

Lampuuk Beach

Beach

This mosque was built in 1990 and completed in 1997.
How to go: It is located 500 meters from the beach towards east.

Pantai Momong

Beach

How to go: It is located north from Lampuuk Beach between hill.


Day-3:

Lhok Mata Ie Beach

How to go: It is located in Gampong Ujung Pancu Village and the beach belongs to Peukan Bada Sub-District. From Banda Aceh City go to Peukan Bada Sub-District about 11 km away. From Gampong Ujung Pancu Village, the beach takes only several minutes by walking.

Taman Bunga Celosia Beurawe

Entry fee: IDR 10,000 for adult and IDR 5,000 for children. Additional fee of IDR 5,000 to use garden properties such as swings, umbrellas and hats.
How to go: It is situated at Beurawe, Kuta Alam, Banda Aceh City near Dr. Zainoel Abidin Regional General Hospital.

Raya Baiturrahman

Grand Mosque

The original Masjid Raya Grand Mosque was built in 1612 during the reign of Sultan Iskandar Muda.
How to go: It is situated at Jl. Moh. Jam No.1, Kp. Baru, Kec. Baiturrahman, Kota Banda Aceh.

Krueng Daroy

How to go: Walking distance from Raya Baiturrahman.

Museum Aceh

It is one of the oldest museum in Indonesia.
How to go: It is at Krueng Daroy. Just need to cross the bridge.

Makam Para Sultan Aceh di Kandang XII

Royal Hostel

It's at the Royal Hostel. In this place you will find ancient tombs with tombstones carved in Arabic characters.
How to go: Near Krueng Daroy. Just opposite of Museum Aceh.

Makam Raja Aceh

How to go: At the south end of Krueng Daroy.

Aceh Tsunami Museum

Designed as a symbolic reminder of the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami disaster
How to go: Walk from Krueng Daroy towards south.

Putroe Phang Park

Park

Putroe Phang means Princess of Pahang, Malaysia. Sultan Iskandar Muda made the park for his wife, who is from Pahang.
How to go: It is 8 minutes walk from Aceh Tsunami Museum.

Site Taman Sari Gunongan

Historical Park

The garden was built by Iskandar Thani in mid 17th-century as part of the court of Aceh Sultanate.
How to go: 280 meters walking distance from Aceh Tsunami Museum.

Day-5: Weh Island

Pulau Weh is small island. Main city is Sabang in this island. Weh island also known as Pulau Sabang.

How to Reach Weh Island

By air: Sabang has a small airport, Maimun Saleh Airport. The only regular flights connect with Medan three times a week.
Ferry Leaves from Ulee Lheue Sea Port in Banda Aceh.
Fast ferry leaves every day at 9.30 AM and 4 PM from Banda Aceh and 8:30 AM and 4 PM from Sabang Pulau Weh. It takes 30 minutes and fare IDR 60,000 ($4.27) for economy, 70,000 ($4.98) for business and 80,000 for VIP ($5.69).
Slow Ferry leaves Leaves at 9.30 AM from Banda Aceh and 2 PM from Weh Island. It takes about 2 hours. Fare IDR 18,000 ($1.28) for economy 26,000 ($1.85) for business and 32,000  ($2.28) for executive.
Both Ferry will take you to Balohan port in Weh Island. From there you have to go to you destination by taxi or minibus.

Tourist Places in Weh Island:

Ibioh Beach: Most tourist stay nearby this beach. There is a small island Pulao Rubiah close to this beach.

Long Beach: Long beach is situated about 2 km from Ibioh Beach towards north. There is a only one cafe is Bixio Cafe.

Kilometer Zero: Best for Sunset. It is about 4.5 km from Long Beach towards north.

Gapang Beach: It is situated about 3 km from Ibioh beach towards south.

Air Terjun Pria Laot: Nice Waterfall. If you come from Gapang beach, you have to go about 7.5 km towars south. You can park car near water pump.
From there you have to walk through the concreted path that will guide to the Pria Laot Waterfall for more than 1 Km. On the left side there is the river. Walk through the concrete path and then mossy rocks, you have to several bridges.

Pulau Klah: Small Island near Sabang City.

Pantai Kasih Beach: It is situated at the northend of Sabang city.

Sumurtiga Beach: About 2.86 km from Pantai Kasih Beach towards southeast.

Benteng Jepang: About 6.4 km from Sumurtiga Beach towards south.

Snorkelling at Long beach, Iboih Beach, Gapang Beach and Summur Tiga is popular in Weh Island.
