Moulvibazar is a district in Sylhet Division of Bangladesh.

It is bordered by Sylhet district in the north, Habiganj district in the west and Indian States Assam in the east and Tripura in the south.

MoulviBazar is divided into 7 Sub-districts (Borolekha, Juri, Komolganj, Kulaura, Moulovibazar Sadar, Rajnogor and Sreemangal). Among them Srimangal is popular. Everyone goes to Sreemangal directly to visit.

Popular: Mainly popular for Tea Garden. Waterfalls, Lake, Forests and Bird Watching.



How to Reach Sreemangal

There is no airport in Sreemangal. The nearest airport is Sylhet airport.Buy cheapest air ticket from the app below or check flight fares in Bangladeshi Taka. Or check airfares in other currencies - USD, Canadian Dollar, Euro, Russian Ruble, Indian Rupee.

Type your destination "Sylhet" and select it from drop down menu. Enter your Depart date and Return date. If one-way then cross the Return date. If more than 1 passenger, enter. If you want business class click on "Business class" and click on search
.



Bus starts from Mohakhali bus terminal. It goes to Moulvibazar via Sreemangal. Buses run every hour from 6 AM to 11 PM. Ena Paribahan Non AC fare 400 Taka ($4.73) and AC 600 Taka ($7.08). But AC buses leave 3 or 4 times in a day. From Saydabad bus stand, Hanif Paribahan Non AC fare 380 Taka ($4.48). Buses take 5 hours to reach.

You can walk, or hire Ricksha, fare 10 Taka ($0.12). Heed is about 3.5km from Lauwachhara National Park and just before Bot Tola Mor.

Monipuri Para at Ramnagar. Just behind the Seven Color Tea shop. You can buy hand made dress and handicrafts from their shops. Their products have great demand in all parts of the country and abroad.

On the other hand, "Ras Mela" is a yearly celebrated festival of the Monipuris. Every year in November which is the beginning of Bengali month of Agrahayan this festival is arranged. People from all around come to visit and enjoy this Mela.

We went by car. There is a car parking area. Then you have to walk through the hard road about 3 hours. But must go at rainy season. So that you can see the water flow.

Day-3:

Madhobpur Lake
Lake and Tea Garden

Walk through road where beautiful Tea garden on the both side of the road. Beautiful lake at the end of the road.

How to go: From Sreemangal you have to go to Vanugachh by bus or CNG. From Bot Tola to Vanugachh, ricksha fare is 10 Taka ($0.12). From intersection point turn right. You will get many shared CNG. Fare 20 Taka ($0.24) to Madhabpur. Tell the driver to get off you the road near lake.



Lawachara National Park
National Park

Lauwachhara National Park is situated on 3089 acres of land.

Entry Fee: 20 Taka ($0.24).




Day-4:

Madhobkundo Waterfall

Entry Fee: 10 Taka ($0.12) for Bangladeshi and 100 Taka ($1.18) for foreigner.
How to go: This is far from Sreemangal sub-district. More than about 2 hours takes to reach there. You have to go to Kula-ura by bus. Fare 50 Taka ($0.59). if you are on the way of Lauwachhara, then you have to wait a long time for bus. In that case you can go by CNG to Shomsher Nogor. From Shomsher Nagar, go to Kulaura by CNG or Bus. Fare 20 Taka ($0.24). From Kula-ura, you have to ride on CNG of Borolekha. Get off at Pahartoli on the way of Borolekha. Fare 50 Taka ($0.59). Then turn right and by another CNG, go to Khola-Gao. CNG fare ten Taka ($0.12). From Khola-gao, hire rickshaw or CNG to waterfalls. Fare 20 Taka ($0.24).

How to go: Inside the Madhabkunda Echo Park. Porikunda waterfall is just before the Madhabkunda waterfall.



Monuhor Masterer Pakhir Bari

How to go: It is situated at Hakaluki Haor Road, Borolekha. Near Hakaluki Haor.



Hakaluki Haor
Wetland

Hakaluki Haor is a marsh wetland ecological system of North-Eastern Bangladesh. It is one of Bangladesh's largest and one of Asia's larger marsh wetland resources. A total of 558 species of animals and birds have been identified here, including some very rare already declared as threatened, vulnerable, endangered and critically endangered species.

How to go: From Kula-ura, ride on CNG of Borolekha. On the way of Borolekha, there is a place called Basirpur. Fare 50 Taka ($0.59). Then turn left. By another CNG, go to Hakaluki Haor. This is near from Pahartoli.
At Hakaluki Haor you can enjoy engine boat journey. We hired a big boat. Fare 1000 taka ($11.79). It depends on your bargain capacity. If you are few in number then hire small boat.




Day-5:

Loreal Hills Park
Children Park

This is a small park, specially for local children. Tourist from Dhaka or abroad can omit this place. This park is suitable for local people.

Entry Fee: 60 Taka ($0.71).
How to go: Sreemangal to Moulovibazar by local bus. Fare 30 Taka ($0.35). From there go to Court Bari Road by Tomtom (Battery easy bike). Fare five Taka ($0.059) per person. From there turn left road and another Tomtom (Battery easy bike) goes to the park. Fare 15 Taka ($0.18) per person.
