How to Reach Vilanova i la Geltru

Josep Tarradellas Barcelona–El Prat Airport (IATA: BCN) previously named Barcelona-El Prat is an international airport. It is the second largest and busiest airport in Spain.
I always use the following app to buy air tickets. Because this app shows the cheapest tickets on all airlines. I can buy tickets as per my requirement. Enter the country you are going to. Then enter your departure and arrival date. Click on search.



From Barcelona: Vilanova is about 51 km from Barcelona and 9.7 km from Sitges towards southwest.
By Train: From "Passeig de Gracia" or "Sants" stations in Barcelona, direct to Vilanova on the line to Sant Vicenç the C-2 line. About 3 or more trains per hour and fare about 4,10 Euro ($4.36). Barcelona airport station is located in the terminal 2 (T2). To go up there in Terminal 1 out free shuttle buses every 15 minutes, once there take the train to the station "El Prat", get off the train and commute to Vilanova-Sant Vicenç line.

Catalonia Railway Museum

Visiting Time: Tuesday to Sunday - 10.30 AM to 2.30 PM. Saturday - 10.30 AM to 2.30 PM and 4 PM to 6.30 PM.
Entry Fee: General guided tour 5 Euro ($5.42).
How to go: About 600 meters from Far de Sant Cristòfol towards northwest.


Biblioteca Museu Víctor Balaguer

It was built in 1884 by Víctor Balaguer. The museum consists of Art Museum and Library.
Museum Visiting Time: Tuesday, Wenesday and Friday - 10 AM to 2 PM and 5 PM to 7 PM. Thursday - 10 AM to 2 PM and 7 PM to 9 PM. Saturday - 11 AM to 2 PM and 5 PM to 7 PM. Sunday - 11 AM to 2 PM.
Library Visiting Time: Monday to Friday - 9.30 AM to 2 PM. Wednesday - 9.30 AM to 7 PM.
Entry Fee: 4 Euro ($4.34) for adult. 2 Euro ($2.17) for Reduced ticket for child age 4-11, student and senior. Free for First Sunday of every month and Thursday evening.

How to go: About 550 meters from Biblioteca Museu Víctor Balaguer towards north. From the museum go to Rambla Exposició street then turn left. Walk 150 meters then turn right to Carrer de la Llibertat street. Walk straight through this road about 640 meters, you will reach at this square.

Castell de la Geltrú

It was built in between the 12th and 15th centuries. Now it is using as the headquarters of the Garraf Regional Archive.

Can Papiol Romanticism Museum

Visiting Time May-October: Friday to Sunday - 11 AM to 2 PM and 5 PM to 7 PM.

It is the main and popular street in the city consists of cafes, restaurants and hotels..
How to go: From Sant Antoni Abat at the north end of the road and about 1.2 km road towars south. At the south end there is a Monumento a Francesc Macià Near Port de Vilanova.

Torre Blava - Espai Guinovart

The tower of Ribes Roges was built in the last third of the 19th century as a defensive element to protect the Baix-a-mar district from possible attacks, by sea or land. Now it is house of restaurants and cafes.
The tower, with a circular structure, consists of three floors and a roof.
Entry Fee: 2 Euro. Reduced fee 1 euro ($) for Chil age 4-11, students age below 26, retirees and pensioners, unemployed, large families and single parents, Active Card and groups (10-20) without a guided tour. Free entry on 1st Sunday of the summer months, from 6 PM to 9 PM.

Cubelles is a town of El Garraf comarca (county) in Barcelona province. It is the last town in Barcelona Province to the southwest, lies west side of Vilanova. There are only few places to visit here. So you can travel Cubelles in day from Vilanova i la Geltru.

El castell de Cubelles

The castle of Cubelles is built by Gombau de Besora. It was built on the remains of an ancient Roman villa. It was acquired by the City Council in 1989.
How to go: it is located 1.3 km from Platja Ibersol towards north.


Can Trave

Landmark

Frederic Travé, owner of the house, installed a library, a natural science office and a botanical garden. After the death of Frederic Travé in 1982, his wife was responsible for the conservation of the collections and the building.
How to go: It is located near El castell de Cubelles.
