Chandpur ( চাঁদপুর )
City of Bangladesh

Chandpur is a district in the Chattogram Division of Bangladesh.

Chandpur district is bounded by Munshiganj and Comilla districts on the north, Noakhali, Lakshmipur and Barisal districts on the south, Comilla district on the east, Shariatpur, and Munshiganj districts on the west.

Chandpur District is divided into 8 sub-districts (Chandpur Sadar, Faridganj, Haimchar, Hajiganj, Kachua, Matlab Dakshin, Matlab Uttar, Shahrasti).

Buses are available from Dhaka to Chandpur.

Molehead

Three rivers (Padma, Meghna, Dakatia) meet in a place is called molehead. You can see the beautiful sunrise view from here.

Roktodhara

Monument

During the Great War of Liberation in 1971, the Torture Cell was established at different places in Chandpur city. men and women were brought in this torture cell and tortured inhumanly then Tied hands and feet, Lived, half-dead or killed people threw in the river Meghna or Dakatia. In memory of martyrs in 2011, Memorial monument "Roktodhara" built near Molehed.

Monument of liberation war

Memory of the Great War of Liberation of Bangladesh in 1971, a Memorial sculpture of liberation war was built in 1989.

Orun Nondi Swimming pool


A swimming pool was built in 2002 in front of the outer stadium at the southern end of the Chandpur stadium.
How to go: It's in Main town near Chandpur stadium.


Temple at Nuniya Dutta House


In February 1985, on February 1, 1985, Shri Babu Moti Lal Dutta established Durga Temple at Nuniya Dutta house.
How to go: It is in Shahrasti Sub district. From there go to Nunia village at Chitoshi west union.


Hazrat Rasti Shah (R) Shrine


The 12 awlias who came to Bangladesh with Hazrat Shahjalal (R) from Baghdad, Iraq to propagate Islam in Bangladesh, Rasti Shah one of them. He was born in 1238 in Baghdad. He was a relative of Barapir Abdul Kader Jilani (R). He came to Bangladesh in 1351. He Died in 1388. According to the name of Hazrat Rasti Shah (R), on 13 March 1987, 'Shahrasti' was formed. A three-domed ancient mosque constructed besides the shrine. It is reported that, after three and a half years of the death of Hazrat Rasti Shah (R), Kazi Golam Rosul was ordered by Pori Bibi, the daughter of Subedar Shayesta Khan. In order to protect the shrine, the British East India Company used to contribute an annual rate of two hundred and ten Taka. On the north side of the shrine there is a pond on 30 acres of land. There is a rumor that this pond was excavated by "Jinn" ordered by Hazrat Rasti Shah (R). Every year last thursday of Bangla month "Magh" there held a "Orosh". People come from different places at that time.
How to go: It is in Shahrasti sub district. From Bazar go to north.
