Joypurhat is a district in Rajshahi Division of Bangladesh.
Joypurhat is bounded by Dinajpur district on the north, Naogaon and Bogura districts on the south, Bogura and Gaibandha districts on the east, Naogaon district and West Bengal state of India on the west.
Joypurhat district is divided into 5 upazila or sub districts (Joypurhat Sadar ( জয়পুরহাট সদর ), Akkelpur ( আক্কেলপুর ), Kalai ( কালাই ), Khetlal ( ক্ষেতলাল ), Panchbibi ( পাঁচবিবি )).

Asranga Dighi
LakeIts total area is 25.50 acres. It is believed that the dighi was dug about 1200 years ago. According to many, Manu Bhatta, a member of Tahirpur raj family, dug the dighi. The dighi was re-excavated in 1992.
