Josiah Quincy House
Historic Landmark
It was the home of Revolutionary War soldier Colonel Josiah Quincy I (1772-1864). The house was built in 1770. The house and some adjoining properties were sold to Frank E. Hall of Boston in 1895. The house is now owned by Historic New England.
Visiting Time: July to September - First and Third Saturday - 11 AM to 4 PM.
Entry Fee: 10 Dollar for adult. 9 Dollar for senior and student. 5 Dollar for child.
How to go: It is located about 700 meters from Wollaston Beach towards south at 20 Muirhead Street in the Wollaston neighborhood of Quincy.
Quincy Quarries Reservation
Park
Solomon Willard selected the site in 1825, as the source of stone for the Bunker Hill Monument in Charlestown. The "Granite Railway" was built and began operations on October 7, 1826. The quarry closed in 1963.
Boston's Metropolitan District Commission purchased 22 acres, including Granite Railway Quarry in 1985.

John Adams Birthplace: It was purchased by Deacon John Adams, Sr., the father of the second president of United States, John Adams. Adams was born and lived here until 1764.
John Quincy Adams Birthplace: Sixth United States President, John Quincy Adams, was born here in 1767.
The Old House at Peacefield: The Old House was originally constructed in 1731 for Leonard Vassall. The land was purchased by Adams on September 23, 1787.
Stone Library: The Stone Library was completed in 1870. It houses books which belonged to John Adams, John Quincy Adams, Charles Francis Adams, Henry Adams, and Brooks Adams.
United First Parish Church: The church was built in 1828.

Souther Tide Mill
Historical Landmark
Ebenezer Thayer (1768-1841), a merchant, purchased about 39 acres of land in 1802. He sold his property in 1814 to David Stetson of Charlestown. Stetson sold the property in 1815 to John Souther. Souther operated a shipyard, a wharf, a grist mill, a saw mill and the canal lock.
The original grist mill burned and was replaced in 1854. Souther family sold the shipyard properties and their wharf to Wilber F. Larkin in 1873. Larkin converted it to a lumber yard. Souther family sold the dam and mills to Johnson in 1888.

United States Naval Shipbuilding Museum

Fore River Shipyard was began operations at this location on Quincy Point in 1901 and closed in 1986. Most of the ships at the yard were built for the United States Navy. The museum was established in 1993.
Visiting Time: 10 AM to 4 PM.
Entry Fee: 12 Dollar for adult. 10 Dollar for senior age above 55 and child age 4-12. Free for child age 0-3.
How to go: It is located about 500 meters from Avalon Beach towards south at 549 South Street, Pier 3, Quincy.
