Manikganj is a district in central Bangladesh. It is a part of the Dhaka Division.

Manikganj is bounded by Tangail district on the north, Faridpur and Dhaka districts on the south, Dhaka district on the east, Pabna, Rajbari and Sirajganj districts on the west.

Manikganj is divided into seven Upazila or sub districts (Manikganj Sadar, Singair, Shivalaya, Saturia, Harirampur, Ghior, Daulatpur.

Paturia Ghaat

Ferry Port

Aricha Ghat is an important river port in Bangladesh. It is situated in Manikganj District. The port is managed by Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority. Daulatdia-Paturia route ferries ply from this port.
How To Go: You can't go there directly, if you don't have own car. From Gulistan, Dhaka there are lots of buses such as Shuvojatra direct goes to Manikgonj. From there by local bus you can go to Paturia Ghaat. You can stay bank of the river or you can cross the river by ferry. Its half an hour nice journey.
You can enjoy the nice view this up and down 1 hour time.


Baliati Zamidar Bari

Baliati Zamindar Bari ( বালিয়াটি জমিদার বাড়ি ) is located at the village of Baliati, in Shaturia ( সাটুরিয়া ) Upazila in Manikganj District, Bangladesh. It is the palace of the Zamindars, the Baliati Zamindari who ruled over a large area.
Gobinda Ram Shaha ( গোবিন্দ রাম সাহা ) was the settler of the Zamindari at Baliati. He was a salt merchant. He inherited the business from his parent, then he extended that business further and established the zamindari. The zamindari extended to Narayanganj District.
How to go: Buses are available from Gabtoli, Dhaka-Saturia route. Bus fare 60 Taka per person. It will take about 2 hours to come at Saturia ( সাটুরিয়া ).
From Saturia ( সাটুরিয়া ) bazaar, you can easily come to the Baliati Palace by ricksha. Fare about 20 Taka




Important Information of Manikgonj
Manikganj Sub-division was established in 1845 and it was turned into a district in 1984.
