Sirajganj is a district in Rajshahi Division in Bangladesh.

It is bordered on the north by Bogra District and Natore District, on the west by Natore and Pabna District, on the south by Pabna and Manikganj District, on the east Manikganj, Tangail and Jamalpur District.



How to Reach Sirajganj

By Air: Nearest airport is Rajshahi Airport (Shah Makhdum Airport), is about 112 km away.

There are few buses run to Shirajgonj from Mahakhali Bus Terminal, Dhaka. Ovi Enterprise and SI Enterprise. All are Non A/C and fare 250 BDT. Buses left after each half an hour from 6.30 AM to 8 PM.
Private Transport: You have to cross Jamuna Bridge. The tole for Motorcycle is 40 Taka and Private Car is 500 Taka.

There are few hotels in Shirajgonj Town. Hotel Alishan. Room fare starts from Non A/C Single 400 Taka. This is near Bus counter at station road.

Jamuna Eco Park

This is in the backward place. From Shirajgonj Town you have to go to Saydabad Mor by shared CNG, fare 15 taka. then you have to hire paddled ricksha. It may cost 30-50 taka.
Entrance is 25 taka. Nice Place for local couple. Otherwise nothing to see.


Eliot Bridge


The English SDO Mr. Bitson Bell built this bridge with a cost of 45,000 Taka in 1895 after the name of Sir Alfred Elliot. Local people known this bridge name as 'Boro Pul'.
How to go: From hotel, ricksha cost 10-15 BDT to Boro Pul.

City Dam


In order to protect Sirajganj city from the Jamuna river erosion, between 1996 and 2001, by the Hyundai Company, at a cost of 331 crores BDT, is 2.5 kilometerss long solid construction.

How to go: From Railstation of Shirajgonj go to the dam by Ricksha.

Russi Park

This is at the bank Jamuna River, few Kilometers north from the Dam.

Zero Point

This is the bank of Jamuna River, about 2 Kilometers north from the Russi Park. Nice open place to view Jamuna River.

Rabindra Kachaari Baari

This is in Shahjadpur Upazila in Shirajgonj District. You can go there by bus from Shirajgonj Bus stand. Pabna Bus goes Via Shahajadpur. Just you will stop at BSIC bus stand, Shahajadpur. Bus Fare 35 Taka.
There is a hotel "Sweet Dream" at Bus stop and a Statue of Rabindranath Tagore.
From Bus stand you will see VAN goes to Bazar Road. They takes 5 Taka each person. Go and tell them to drop you near Rabindra Kachhari Baari.


Shah Makdum Mosque

Mosque and graveyard

After the death of Hazrat Makhdum Shahdullah (R), his companions built a mosque at Shahjadpur. Located on the west bank of the Korotoya river, this mosque is built around the end of the fourteenth century.
How to go: This is in Shahjadpur Upazila in Shirajgonj District. You can go there by bus from Shirajgonj Bus stand. Pabna Bus goes Via Shahajadpur. From Shahajadpur go to the mosque by ricksha. fare 15 Taka.

Dhubil Katar Mohol Jomider Bari

Old Architectural House

It is known that this house was built during the tenure of Munshi Abdur Rahman Talukder, the founder of Kartar Mahal Pargana.
How to go: It is in Dhubil Union. Go to Dhubil by bus from town.


Navaratna Temple

Locally known as "Hatikumrul Temple". From Shirajgonj Town go by bus to Hatikumrul Gol Chottor, fare 15 Taka. From Shahjadpur go By bus to Gol Chottor, fare 20 Taka. from there by Tempo Go to Hatikumrul Mandir. Fare 5 taka. Then walk to the right.
