Rangamati is a District in the Chittagong Division of Bangladesh. Rangamati is the largest district of the country by area.

Rangamati is bounded by Tripura State of India on the north, Bandarban district on the south, Mizoram State of India and Chinpradesh of Mayanmar on the east, Khagrachhari and Chittagong districts on the west.

Rangamati district divided into 10 upazila or sub districts (Rangamati Sadar, Belaichhari, Bagaichhari, Barkal, Juraichhari, Rajasthali, Kaptai, Langadu, Naniarchar, Kaukhali).

Kaptai Lake

In 1960, the construction of Kaptai dam for the establishment of a hydroelectric power station created Karnafuli lake. The artificial lake area is 292 square miles. The combination view of hill and lake creates a beautiful scenery. Speed ??boats and vessels are available for boat trips, in the reserve market, Tobolchhori and tourism port. How to go: From Rangamati reserve market area or Rangamati Central Shahid Minar, you have to go there by reserve boat.

Reserve Bazar

Here you will get public engine boat to travel different places in Rangamati.
How to go: It is located about 770 meters from Rangamati Central Shahid Minar towards north.


Rongrung

Mountain

On the top of the hill there is a TNT tower. So this hill also known as TNT hill. And down the hill there is a army camp and police office.
How to go: From Rangamati you can reserve a boat as a package. Fare 1500-2000 Taka
($17.51-23.35). In this Package, they will take you Shuvolong waterfall, Shuvolong Bazar, Rongrung hill and also visit army camp.

How to go: It is located about 1.2 km from Rangamati Central Shahid Minar towards southwest.

How to go: It is located south of Parjatan Holiday Complex.

Juraichhari

Sub district

Jura Means cold and chhari means waterfall. From this the sub district name is Juraichhari. Only transport way is water. Take permission from BGB camp then visit Vusion Chhora and chhoto Horina. Mitinga chhori, Shuvolong waterfall, Hanging bridge, DC hill park.
How to go: Launch leaves everyday at 7.30 AM and 2.30 for Jurachhori from Reserve Bazar. Fare 70-200 Taka
($0.82-2.33).


Day-7:

Assam Bosti Bridge

How to go: It is located 2.2 km from Tribal Textile Market towards southwest.

Karnaphuli Paper Mills

Paper Mills

Karnaphuli Paper mills was established established in 1953 during Pakistan period. It was sold in 1964 and after the Independence of Bangladesh the company was taken over by Bangladesh. Here you can view all the steps for making paper from bamboo and plywood. Permission is needed to enter the factory.
How to go: Go to Kaptai from Rangamati by bus.


Day-8: Bilaichari Sub-district
You can stay at Bilaichari. There is a hotel 'Niribili'. Double bed 500 Taka ($5.84) and single bed 300 Taka ($3.50).

Muppochara waterfall

How to go: It is located at Bangalkata, Bilaichari sub district Rangamati. From Kaptai go to Bilaichari by Engine boat. Reserved 1000-1500 Taka ($11.67-17.51) and Local 55 Taka ($0.64). It will take 3 Hours. From Bilaichari you have to go to Bangalkata by engine boat. Boat takes 3 hours to reach. You can hire a guide but it's not necessary. Guide cost 300-500 Taka ($3.50-5.84). Then 1 hour trekking to this waterfall.


Day-9: Bilaichari Sub-district

Dhuppani Waterfall

How to go: It is located at Orachhori, Farua union, Bilaichari sub district. From Kaptai go to Bilaichari by Engine boat. Reserved 1000-1500 Taka ($11.67-17.51) and Local 55 Taka ($0.64). It will take 3 Hours. From Bilaichari you have to go to Uluchhari by engine boat. Then hire a guide. guide cost 500 Taka ($5.84). Then 2.5 hours trekking to Dhuppani Area. From there about 200 meters trekking to the waterfall.


Day-9:
* It is better to travel these places from Ruma, Bandarban district.

Raikhyang Lake

Also called 'Pukur Para'. This is a deep natural lake. It is about 2,500 feet high from the sea level and about 30 acres in the area. According to geologists, it was originally made of volcano about 2000 years ago.
How to go: It is located at Borodholi ward, Farua union, Bilaichhori sub-district. In the morning, at around 7 am from Reserve Bazar, engine boat leaves at 7 AM to bilaichhari and reached at 10 AM. Engine boat back from bilaichhari to Reserve Bazar at 2 PM.


* There is a waterfall near the lake is Raikhyang River Waterfall.

Dumlong Mountain

Mountain

Dumlong mountain is the second highest mountain in Bangladesh. The height of the mountain is 3314 feet.
How to go: It is situated at Bilaichhori sub-district in Rangamati. But it is near and easy to go from Ruma, Bandarban.



Day-10:

Langadu

What to visit: Bonosri Rest house, Mainimukh Bazar Mosque, Tintila Bon Bihar, Duluchhori Jetbon Bihar, Baitush sharif Complex, Catroli Lake, Catroli Bazar, Tholchhap mountain, Gorushotang Hill, Kakpariya natural forest, Pablakhali forest, Pablakhali Game Forest, Jomchug forest, Bonsrity Rest house at Pablakhali.
How to go: Launch leaves from Reserve Bazar at 7 AM, 10 AM 12 PM and 2 PM. It takes about 3 hours to reach. Fare 115-145 Taka
($1.34-1.69). Last launch back from Langadu to Rangamati at 1.30 PM.

PablaKhali Wildlife Sanctuary

The area of the sanctuary is 104,000 acres.
How to go: It is located at Langadu sub district. From Langadu by launch to Amtali Bazaar, the entrance of Pablakhali. It takes about 1.30 hour.



Day-11:
* It is better to travel these places from Dighinala, Khagrachari district.

Sajek Valley

Area

Sajek is a largest union in Bangladesh. From Dighinal, Khagrachhori district go to No. 10 Baghaihat police and Army camp. Take permission then go to Kasalong bridge. Then Tiger Tila Army camp and Masalong Bazar. Cross Bazar you will reach Ruilui area. this area on top of 1800 feet. The villagers here are Lucai. After Ruilui Area is Sajek. There is a BGB Camp. Last village of Sajek is Konglok. But there is no army camp at Konglok. So try to omit this village.
How to go: Although it is in Rangamati district but Sajek is the easiest to reach from Dighinala, Khagrachhari district.


Komolok Waterfall

Also known as Pidam Toisha or Sikam Toisha.
How to go: From Ruilui, Sajek, this is 2.30 hours trekking.


Haja Chhora Waterfall

Also known as Shuknachhara waterfall.
How to go: It is located at Baghaihat, Saajek union, Baghaichhari, Rangamati. It is easiest to go from Dhiginala, Khagrachori. 10-15 minutes walking distance from 10 number police post at Dhiginala to reach Hajachara Waterfall which is also called ten number waterfall.
