Noakhali Para Waterfall

Noakhali Para is a village in Baharchhara Union of Teknaf Upazila. There is a well-known waterfall in this village called Bagghona Waterfall.
There is another waterfall we will go there. Which is known as Noakhali Para Waterfall.
Take a local CNG from Shyamapur Marine Drive Road to Noakhali Para. The fare is 70 taka. Actually, You have to get in a CNG or bus coming from Cox's Bazar. So you will not get an empty one. You have to wait a long. The distance is about 21 kilometers.
It is huge. But there is no water. You can only get water from the spring during the monsoon. It is known that wild elephants have attacked houses around here.

Zero Kilometer

This is Shapla Chattar in Teknaf. It is called Zero Kilometer. From Cox's Bazar, the CNG bus will drop you here via Marine Drive. The straight road to the north is the old road. The bus directly from Dhaka comes via this road along the Naf River, but it will drop you a little further away.
You will see CNG on the right side. They will take you to Shah Parir Dwip at the intersection of three roads for 100 taka per person. At the end of this road on the east side, if you walk to the left, you will find Mathin's Well and you can take the road on the right to take CNG and go to Shah Parir Dwip. And I came to Teknaf via Marine Drive on that road to the west.

Mathiner Kup

From Shapla Chattar, at the end of the road to the east, I walked left along this road in front of Teknaf Police Station. Inside it, on the right side is Mathin's Well. A historical place.
The incident took place around 1924. A police officer from Kolkata, Dhiraj Bhattacharya, was transferred to this police station in Teknaf.
Dhiraj was born on November 5, 1905, in Panjia village near Jessore. He passed his SSC in 1923 and enrolled in college in Kolkata, but left his studies and started working in the police. He was transferred to this police station in Teknaf. He lived in a semi-paca house in the police station. This well was the only well in Teknaf within the police station. All the girls of Teknaf used to fetch water from here. He fell in love with a girl named Mathin who came here to fetch water. It is known that Mathin was the only daughter of the landlord of Teknaf, Ayanthin. The two fell in love. Their love affair became public and the two were married.
Meanwhile, Dhiraj's father receives a letter asking him to go to Kolkata. After telling Mathin, Mathin refuses to let him go, Dhiraj runs away.
What happened next was very sad. Mathin thought that Dhiraj had run away because he had to get married. Thinking this, Mathin stopped eating and fell ill. And one day she died. In memory of this sacrifice for love, this well came to be known as Mathin's Well.
Dhiraj left his job and went to Kolkata to start acting in films. His first film, Satilakshi, was released in 1925. He acted in about 95 films in Kolkata. Dhiraj died in Kolkata in 1959.
Dhiraj wrote many books. Such as Jokhon Poolish Chilam, Jokhon Nayok Cholam etc.
Dhiraj's deception and Mathin's sacrifice remain immortalized even today through this well.

Shah Pari Island

Shah Pari Island is located in Sabrang Union of Teknaf Upazila. Some say that the island was named after Emperor Shah Shuja's 'Shah' and his wife Paribanu's 'Pari'. Some say that the island was named after 'Shah Farid' Aulia. Salt producing and dried Fish are the main business in this island.

Shah Pori Terminal

The jetty is located on the Naf River in eastern Bangladesh. The river that separates Bangladesh and Myanmar. That is, what you see on the other side of the river is another country, Myanmar. The jetty is located after a bridge about 550 meters long from the bank. Since it is low tide, the water is far away.
The ramp has gone down from the side. If there is water, boats come and dock here. Locals use this jetty to go to St. Martin.
Huge trawlers are visible. They transport goods to St. Martin Island along with passengers. Stairs have gone down from this side of the jetty.
The trawler arrived from St. Martin today. It will leave for St. Martin again tomorrow. The fare is only 350 taka per person. You can get a speed boat from here. The fare is 550 taka per person. But it is risky to go by this vehicle in the rough sea during the off-season. So it is best to go by ship in the winter.
How to go: From Teknaf's Shapla Chattar, you can see CNG on the right. You can take this local CNG located east of Shapla Chattar to Shah Parir Dwip three-way intersection. CNG will go to the right on that eastern road. The fare is 100 taka per person. From the intersection of three roads in Shah Parir Island, you can take a local auto to Shah Pari Terminal for 10 taka. From here, you can take a reserve CNG to Shah Pari Terminal for 200 or 250 taka.

Dakkhin Para

We walked along this road from Sabrang Jetty. Look, you are standing on the last road in the southernmost part of Bangladesh. After that, there are no more roads in the south and there never will be.
You might think that Saint Martin is the southernmost. Right, but to get to Saint Martin you have to go by water, meaning it is separated from the mainland. But this place is the southernmost of the mainland of Bangladesh.

Sabrang Zero Point

This is the 80-kilometer end of the world's longest marine drive, the Cox's Bazar Marine Drive. It was inaugurated on May 6, 2017.
A clock has been made at the end point. However, it is not the end of Bangladesh, in the south. Just after the zero point is "Shah Parir Dwip".

Teknaf Beach

A wonderful restaurant has been built at this place on Marine Drive. Food stalls next to the beach. Fuchka 9 pieces for 70 taka. You can sit here and enjoy the sunset.
