Jashore (previous spelling was Jessore) is a district in Khulna Division of Bangladesh.

It is bordered by India to the west, Khulna District and Satkhira District to the south, Khulna and Narail to the east, and Jhenaidah District and Magura District to the north.

Jessore is famous For: Date Palm Jaggery (খেজুরের গুড়)

How to Reach Jashore

By Air: Jessore airport is connected with any other airports in Bangladesh.

Buy cheapest air ticket from the app below or check flight fares in Bangladeshi Taka. Or check airfares in other currencies - USD, Canadian Dollar, Euro, Russian Ruble, Indian Rupee.

Type your destination "Jessore" and select it from drop down menu. Enter your Depart date and Return date. If one-way then cross the Return date. If more than 1 passenger, enter. If you want business class click on "Business class" and click on search.



There are plenty of AC and Non-AC buses from Dhaka. I went there by bus Shohagh Paribahan from Malibagh rail-gate counter. Price is BDT 480 (Non-AC) and BDT 1000 (AC). Bus starts at 11PM and reached there at 8 AM or may need more due to Manikganj "Paturia (পাটুরিয়া) Ferry". You have to choose your arrival place. 1st stoppage in Jessore is New Market also called Khajuria ( খাজুরিয়া ) Bus Stand. Then the bus will go to Monihar (মনিহার) Cinema Hall.

You can go there from New Market to Doratana mor 10 taka or Monihar to Doratana 5 taka by auto. Then two minutes walk way. Ask anyone they will show you.

Boat Club

Park

You can go there from New market to Palbari mor by auto 10 Taka. From Palbari mor you can hire another auto for Boat Club mor 5 taka and mor to boat club 15 Taka. It is about 4 to 5 km from main road. Better hire up-down Auto from Palbaari mor for 100 Taka. Entry Fee in the park is 15 Taka

Opposite side of the boat club main road. Same way go from Palbari mor by auto. Fair is 5 Taka/each seat. No need to take updown Auto. Entry fee in the park is 20 taka.

Shiv Temple

Hindu Temple

From Palbari mor auto will take 15 Taka to Chachra mor. Then go by walk to left side of the road to shiv temple on right side. From Monihar Cinema hall Auto will take 10 Taka to Shonkorpur bus stand. From there you can go by another Auto for 10 Taka on the way to Chachra.

Imambara

Historical House

Residence of Hazi Mohammad Mohsin. From Monihar go to Murolir Mor or from Chachra or Shankarpur mor by auto.

Jess Garden

Park

Good for the local people. From New Market go to 'Bahadurpur' by Auto (battery). It will take 10 Taka. Driver will drop on the way of Jes Garden. From Main road turn left and you can walk to Jes Garden.

Michael Madhusudan House

Home of Poet

Michael Madhusudan Dutta ( মাইকেল মধুসূদন দত্ত ) was a popular Bengali poet. He was born on 25th January 1824. Dutta is widely considered to be one of the greatest poets in Bengali literature and the father of the Bengali Sonnet. He died on 29th June 1873. His house is 40km away from Jessore bus stand. It is nearest from Satkhira District.
How to go: Go to Shankarpur Bus Stand to Keshobpur bus stand. Then go by Auto to Madhusudan house.

Godkhali

Largest Flower Garden

This is the largest flower garden in Bangladesh. Cultivating flower in about 4000 Bighas of Land at Jhikargachha ( জিকরগাছা ) Upazila and Sharsha ( শার্শা ) Upazila. It's a beautiful place to see.
How to go: You have to go to Godkhali from local bus stand in Jessore by bus. At Godkhali Bazar you can see the flower market. If you want to go to garden then hire van. It may take 100 to 150 Taka.
