Chennai Rail Museum

How to go: By train line 43003 to Pattaravakkam. The lake is about 2.5 km from there. Go there by taxi.

Kalikambal Temple

It was built in 1678 at this place.
How to go: It is located about 7.5 km from Arulmigu Thiyagarajaswamy temple towards south at 212, Thambu Chetty St, near DHL Express Courier, Mannady, George Town.


The Armenian Church

It was built in 1712.
How to go: It is located about 620 meters from Kalikambal Temple towards south at 60/116, Armenian Street, near High Court, Parry's Corner, George Town.


Madras High Court

High Court

It is the second oldest High Courts of India after the Calcutta High Court in Kolkata. High Court established on 15 August 1862. The present buildings were inaugurated on 12 July 1892.

Fort St. George

It is the first English fortress in India. It was built The fort was completed on 23 April 1644.

It was built in 1967–69 to commemorate former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, C. N. Annadurai.

MGR Memorial

Memorial

It was built in 1988 to memory of Former Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu, M. G. Ramachandran and his protege J. Jayalalithaa. Their bodies were buried at the site on December 5, 2016.
How to go: It is located south side of Anna Memorial at Marina Beach road, Navalar Nagar, Chepauk, Triplicane.


Senate House

Building

The building was built in 1879. Now it is the administrative centre of Madras University.
How to go: It is located about 100 meters from MGR Memorial towards west.


Marina Beach

Beach

How to go: It starts from the south side of MGR Memorial.

Vivekananda House

Building

It was built in 1842. Swami Vivekananda stayed here during his visit in Chennai.
How to go: It is located at Kamaraj Salai, Marina Beach Road, Triplicane.


Chennai Marina Lighthouse

Lighthouse

First lighthouse was built in  1796 by the British government. It worked till 1841. 2nd lighthouse was built in 1844 by East India Company. Third lighthouse was built on 1 June 1894. Current lighthouse was built in 1977 by East Coast Constructions.
How to go: It is located about 1.1 km from Vivekananda House towards south at Marina Beach Road, Marina Beach, Mylapor.


Santhome Cathedral Basilica

St. Thomas Cathedral Basilica was first built in 1523 by Portuguese. Current building was built in 1893 byy British.
How to go: It is located 650 meters from Chennai Marina Lighthouse towars south at 38, Santhome High road, Dummingkuppam, Mylapore.

The first memorial at this place was built on 27 January 1956 to commemorate of Mahatma Gandhi. Later 4 structures were added at this place for memorial of Rettamalai Srinivasan and former chief ministers Rajaji, Kamaraj and M. Bhaktavatsalam.
How to go: It is located north side of Snake Park.

How to go: It is located east side of Children's park from Kanagam road (west end) to Rajiv Gandhi IT Expy road (east end).


Arulmigu Marundeeswarar

How to go: It is located 1.5 km from the east end of MGR Film City Road. From south end of MGR Film City Road turn right (south) and walk about 450 meters through Rajiv Gandhi IT Expy road. Then turn left (east) and walk about 900 meters through East Coast road. Turn right (south) and walk 200 meters, you can see the temple on your left.

Broken Bridge

It was collapsed in 1977 due to strong currents of the river.

It was built to commemorate of a European sailor, K A J Schmidt who was drowned at this beach on December 30, 1930 to save the life of a girl.
