Also called Tappe Mil is one of the historical religious places which has stood since the Sasanian Empire (7th–8th centuries AD). It is named after Bahram V, the Sasanian King from 420 to 438.

Shah Abdol-Azim shrine

Burial place of Shah Abdol-Azim, a 5th generation descendant of Imam Hasan (Son of Ali and Fatima, and a grandson of the Islamic prophet Muhammad). Shah Abdol-Azim died on November 2, 866, and was buried at this site.
The mausoleum constructed over Abdol-Azim's tomb in the 1090s CE.
There is an expensive box made of betel-nut wood. Inscriptions are engraved on all four sides of the box. The inscription ends with the date 1330 CE and the name of the manufacturer of the box.
How to go: It is located about 12 km from Bahram Rey Fire Temple towards north. About 10 km from Tehran Railway Station towards southeast via Shahr-e-Rey Metro Station. About 1.5 km from Shahr-e-Rey Metro Station towards southeast in Rey District 20.
Imamzadeh Abdollah

It was built in 1530.

Toghrol Historical Tower

The 20-meter-tall brick tower is the tomb of Seljuk ruler Tughril, who died in Rey in 1063. Toghrol Tower was first renovated in 1922.

Bibi Shahr Banu Shrine

Bibi Shahr Banu Shrine, the daughter of the last Sassanian King Yazdgerd III, and the wife of Imam Hussein (Imam Hussein was the son of Ali and Fatema and grandson of the Islamic prophet Muhammad).
The death of her is unknown. According to literary traditions, she died upon giving birth to her son, Ali ibn Husayn in 659 CE and buried in the Jannat al-Baqi in Medina.
Another account states that after witnessing the massacre of her family during the battle of Karbala in 680 CE, the princess drowned herself in the Euphrates.
The third account tells a story that, during the battle of Karbala in 680 CE, Hussein gave Shahrbanu his horse and told him to return to his homeland in Persia. Yazid's troops followed him closely, and as he approached the hill around Ray, he desperately tried to call on God. The mountain miraculously opened and sheltered the princess. However, one of the tails of her dress was stuck in the rock when the mountain was closed again. When his followers and others find the cloth in the rock, they realize the miracle and recognize Shahr Banu as a saint.
The Shrine was dedicated to her.
How to go: It is located about 4.5 km from Toghrol Historical Tower towards southeast outside the town on the slope of Mount Tabarak.

Khanat Caravanserai

It was built at the end of King Naser al-Din Shah Qajar (16 July 1831 – 1 May 1896).
Khanat means “chambers” and It has a total of 52 chambers. The outside of the caravanserai was converted into small shops.

Malek Historical House

The original building, which Haj Hossein Agha Malek (May 31, 1871 to July 26, 1972) inherited from his father “Mohammad Kazem” was built in the Qajar period (1789-1925). Haj Hossein Agha founded his own library in 1908 and after his father passed away it was moved to his house and stayed there for the rest of his life. Haj Hossein donated his properties with libraries and museums to Astan Quds Razavi (administrative organization) on October 28, 1937. After he passed away in 1973, the library continued to function there until 1996.
How to go: It is located between Emam Khomeini Mosque (formerly called the Shah Mosque) and the Jame’ Mosque of Tehran Bazar.

The Mosque was built by Fath-Ali Shah Qajar (reign: 17 June 1797 to 24 October 1834). Naser al-Din Shah Qajar (reign: 5 September 1848 to 1 May 1896) added two current minarets.

Hamam Qebleh Museum

The Hamam-e Qal’eh is an anthropological museum, which was opened in 2009.

Modares Museum

The house of Ayatollah Seyyed Hassan Modarres (1870-1937), a prominent Iranian lawmaker during the Pahlavi era.
The house was purchased by a philanthropist named Mohammad Ansari in 2014 and restored into its current form.

Motmanol Ateb's house

This house belonged to "Mirza Zinol Abedin Khan Danbali Zarabi" nicknamed Motmanol Ateba, physician in the presence of Naser al-Din Shah.

Imam Jomeh House

It was built in the 19th century and was the residence of Aqa Khan Nuri, E'temad-ol Dowleh (1807–1865). He served as prime minister (?adr-e a??am) between 1851-58 during the reign of king Naser al-Din Shah Qajar(reign: 1848–1896)
Building later was used to be the residence of Imam Jomeh, the Friday Praying Leader before the Islamic revolution. This building consists of many halls and chambers.
How to go: It is located about 500 meters from Motmanol Ateb's house towards west.
Golestan Palace

The complex of Golestan Palace consists of 17 structures, including palaces, museums, and halls.
The complex was started to build by building a citadel during the reign of Tahmasp I (reign: 1524–1576) of the Safavid dynasty (1502–1736).
Later the complex was renovated and added structures by Karim Khan of the Zand dynasty (reign: 1750–1779), Fath Ali Shah (reign: 17 June 1797 - 24 October 1834) of the Qajar dynasty, Nasser ed Din Shah (reign: 1848–1896).
In between 1925 and 1944, a large portion of the buildings of the complex were destroyed by Reza Shah. In that place, commercial buildings with the modern style of 1950s and 1960s were erected.

Inside the Premises:
Marble Throne: Also called Takht e Marmar. It was built in 1806 by Fath Ali Shah of the Qajar dynasty. The throne is made of 65 pieces of famous yellow marble. The last coronation to be held at the Marble Throne was the coronation of Reza Shah of the Pahlavi dynasty on 25 April 1926.
Karim Khani Nook: Also called Khalvat e Karim Khani. Around 1759, the building was a part of the temporary residence of Karim Khan (reign: 1751-1779) of the Zand dynasty. Once upon a time there was a small pond with a fountain.
Pond House: Also called Howz Khaneh. The Pond House was used as a summer chamber during the Qajar era (1742–1797).
Brilliant Hall: Also called Talar e Brelian. The hall was built by the order of Nasser ed Din Shah (reign: 1848–1896) to replace the Crystal Hall. The Brilliant Hall is famous for its mirror work and chandeliers.
Containers Hall: Also called Talar e Zoruf. This building replaced the building of Narenjestan in the north of the Ivory Hall.
Ivory Hall: Also called Talar e Adj. Ivory Hall is a large hall used as a dining room. It was decorated with some gifts presented to Nasser ed Din Shah by European monarchs.
Mirror Hall: Also called Talar e Aineh. This small hall is famous for its mirror work.
Salam Hall: Also called Talar e Salam. After the Sun Throne was moved to the Royal Jewels Museum at the Central Bank of Iran, this hall was named Salam Hall and used to hold special receptions in the presence of the king.
Diamond Hall: Also called Talar e Almas. The construction of this hall dates back to the time of Fath Ali Shah (reign: 17 June 1797-24 October 1834). It was named for it's exceptional mirror work inside the building.
Building of Windcatchers: Also called Emarat e Badgir. It was constructed during the reign of Fath Ali Shah (reign: 17 June 1797-24 October 1834). It has two rooms known as Gushvar. There is a central room which contains the finest stained glass window in the Golestan Palace. There are four wind towers outside.
Edifice of the Sun: Also called Shams ol Emareh. It was built in 1865-1867 by Naser al-Din Shah Qajar. The building has two towers.
Museum of Gifts: This building is located under the Salam Hall. During the reign of Nasser ed Din Shah (reign: 1848–1896), this building was used as a warehouse.
Abyaz Palace: It was built in 1883 by Nasser ed Din Shah. The Ottoman Sultan Abdul Hamid sent precious gifts to Nasser ed Din Shah. The palace was used to display these gifts.
Museum Hall: Nasser ed Din Shah was very impressed by the exhibition of at European museums around 1872. After back in Tehran, he built a museum hall to exhibit paintings, royal jewels, and other royal artifacts. The coronation of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi was held in the Museum Hall on 26 October 1967.
Photographic archive: It was built by Naser ed Din Shah of the Qajar dynasty which contains the 19th-century photography.

The Gate of National Garden

Iran Ebrat Museum

Also called Towhid Prison was once a political prison run by the country's secret police. It was shut down by the Islamic Republic in August 2000. Then houses a museum.
The museum exhibits the cruelty and the way prisoners were kept and tortured.

Also called “Abgineh” Museum. The building was the private residence of Prime Minister Ahmad Qavam from 1921 until 1951. The complex was also Embassy of Egypt for seven years. Then it was sold to Farah Pahlavi’s bureau in 1976. Finally, in 1980, it was turned into a museum.

The garden house belonged to Mirza Ali Asghar Khan Amin al-Soltan (6 January 1858 – 31 August 1907), the prime minister of Nasser al-Din Shah, Muzaffar al-Din Shah, and Mohammad Ali Shah Qajar. The house was bought by Haj Rahim Ittihadiyeh after his death in 1907.

It was built as a residence for the Qajar prince Mass'oud Mirza Zell-e Soltan (son of Naser al-Din) in 1878.

Negarestan Museum Garden

The garden was built in 1802 by Fath-Ali Shah as a summer residence.
Some of the buildings were destroyed after the fall of the Qajar Dynasty in 1925. In 1928, an educational center for teachers started in one of the garden buildings. Some of the faculties held courses, When the University of Tehran started its work in 1934. In 1936 one of the halls became a library. In 1958, the garden became the property of the Social and Cooperation Research Institute of Iran. The rest of the garden was converted as a museum.

Or by Tehran Metro Line 2, go to Farhangsara Metro Station (next station after Tehranpars Subway station) in Tehranpars neighborhood. Then walk to park.

Museum of the Qasr Prison

It was originally built in 1790 as a palace with gardens in the reign of Fath-ali Shah of the Qajar Dynasty.
In 1929 it was used as a prison. After the Russian Revolution in 1917, it was rebuild. It had 192 rooms for 700 prisoners, of which about 100 cells were solitary.
The prison was unused for decades until 2005. It was donated to the municipal government in 2008. Reopened in 2012, the former prison building and offices were converted into a museum building, surrounded by a public park bearing the same name.

Reza Abbasi Museum

The museum was opened in September 1977 under the guidance of Queen Farah Pahlavi. The museum is named after Reza Abbasi (1565–1635), one of the artists in the Safavid period. It exhibits artifacts made of baked clay, metal and stone from the pre historic times to pottery and metal objects, textile and lacquer painting, manuscripts and jewelry belonging to the Islamic period.

Cinema Museum of Iran

Also called Ferdows Garden. The reign of Mohammad Shah (reign: 23 October 1834 – 5 September 1848) of the Qajar dynasty, he ordered the construction of a mansion. He died in September 1848, and the structure remains unfinished.
Hossein Ali Khan, a courtier close to Mohammad Shah, followed the construction of a two-storey palace. During the reign of Nasser Ed Din Shah (reign: 5 September 1848 – 1 May 1896), ownership was transferred to Dust-Ali Khan. He renovated the complex and renamed it Ferdows (as the name of a heaven).
The complex changed several hands and the old palace was eventually destroyed. Mohammad-Vali Khan (1846 - 18 September 1926) bought this properties and added new pools and fountains. The current gate of the garden also dates from this time. Dr. Afshar Yazdi bought this garden and surrounding properties in 1937. He turned this place to a cultural center in 1957.
Since 2002, this place has served as the Cinema Museum of Iran.

It was purchased by Hossein Khodadad, an Iranian industrialist. It is being used as a time museum since 1999–2000.

Saadabad Historical Complex

The complex construction started in 1921. Reza Shah of the Pahlavi Dynasty resided there in the 1920s. His son, Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, moved there in the 1970s. In 1978, President Jimmy Carter stayed in the palace during his visit. After the 1979 Revolution, the complex became a public museum.
