Pirojpur is a district in Barishal Division in south-western Bangladesh.

Pirojpur District is bordered by Barishal and Gopalganj districts to the north, Barguna district to the south, Jhalokati and Barguna districts to the east, Bagerhat district to the west.

Pirojpur district is divided into 7 upazila or sub-districts (Bhandaria, Kawkhali, Mathbaria, Nazirpur, Nesarabad, Pirojpur Sadar, Zianagar).

Famous for: Guava, Hog Plum.
Best time to go: July-September.

How to go: Go to Swarupkathi. From Swarupkathi Bazar go to Aatghor Bazar by Ricksha or Auto.
Best time to go: Flowers appear in the trees in the Bangla months of Magh and Falgun (mid-January to mid-February) and the fruit is plucked from Ashar to Ashwin (mid-June to mid-September). So July is the best time to go.

Rayerkathi Jamider House

Historical Architecture

About three hundred years ago, a historic zamidar tribe was established here. There were about two hundred small and large buildings in this palace. Of them 40 or 50 high rise buildings. Currently remains 7 buildings. The Kalimandir was built in 1658 at Zamidar's house. There is a 25 kilo Shiv-lingo at this temple, which is one of the largest in the subcontinent. There are 10 Shiv temples at this place.
